For the first time in over five years, Caribbean Canada Heart Health Education (CCHHE) is proud to host its Annual General Meeting (AGM). This milestone event marks a new chapter for our organization. We are gathering to focused on renewal, leadership development, and engaging the next generation of board members.
What Is the AGM?
The Annual General Meeting is a key governance meeting required under CCHHE’s Constitution and By-Laws. It provides members with an opportunity to:
- Review the organization’s progress and impact
- Receive reports from the Board of Directors
- Participate in board elections
- Help shape the future direction of CCHHE
Why This AGM Matters
This AGM is especially important as CCHHE:
- Re-establishes regular governance practices after several years
- Welcomes new and younger leaders to the Board
- Begins structured training and mentorship for board and committee roles
- Strengthens transparency, accountability, and member engagement
Interested in Board Leadership?
We strongly encourage young professionals, students, and emerging community leaders who are passionate about health, equity, and community impact to attend. No prior board experience is required. CCHHE is committed to:
- Providing training and orientation for new board members
- Offering mentorship from experienced leaders
- Creating a supportive environment to learn nonprofit governance
This AGM is the first step toward getting involved.
Who Can Attend & Vote?
The AGM is open to CCHHE members in good standing. Only members may vote or stand for election, as outlined in our Constitution.
